Weekly Publications
The Red Folder: In domestic news, read about the DOJ granting Trump the right to handle national monuments, RFK Jr's separation of science and public health, Democratic mayoral elections in NYC, and the nationwide "No Kings" protests. In international news, read about a new economic framework between the US and China, Israel's "war" on Iran, China's crackdown on activism in Hong Kong, and tragedy on an Air India flight.
Blog: This week, Zoe Becker wrote about the unmistakable sameness between every speaker in high-level rounds, and how it’s starting to ruin the event. However, she has a solution. Her solution is simply to be more innovative, as nobody forces competitors to stick to the same norms every time.
"Speech and debate is weird. No event is the end-all, be-all, because when it comes down to it, they’re all just games that feel like the center of the universe for a brief moment in time — until, eventually, they don’t anymore."
An Extemporaneous Crisis of Faith — Zoe Becker

Conclusion
With NSDA Nationals finally over, it’s important to remember to take a break— it is summer, after all! Debaters and speakers alike tend to jump headfirst into summer, seeing as it’s the perfect time to get better. There’s nothing wrong with that, but sometimes taking a break is the best way to improve in your event.
